Why should the environment be protected?

It is crucial to protect the environment to reduce the consumption of eco-systems caused by human activities. It is more of moral responsibility for humans to protect the environment from pollution and other activities that lead to environmental degradation. Air pollution, water pollution, global warming, smog, acid rain, deforestation, wildfires are just a few of the environmental issues that we are facing in recent days. Everyone must take care of the environment to make this planet a perfect living place. No need to put money to go green, but simple changes in daily lifestyle are all that is required to reduce your carbon footprint on the environment. The following are a few suggestions on what we should consider for being part of nature conservation (in our routine); Plant more trees:  Trees play a vital role in creating shades on the ground. Urban trees help buildings to stay cold and fresh, and it will reduce the need for electric fans or air conditioners. And the trees act a...

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA Draft 2020)

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a process of evaluating the likely environmental impacts of a proposed project or development, taking into account inter-related socio-economic, cultural, and human-health impacts, both beneficial and adverse.  It comes under the Environmental Protection Act , 1986. It covers projects such as mining or coal or other minerals, thermal, nuclear & hydro-power projects, real estate projects, infrastructure development, and other industrial projects. It prevents the proposed activity or projects from being established without proper oversight or taking inopportune consequences into account. It analyzes various choices for a project and identifies the one which represents the best combination of economic and environmental expenses and benefits. Environmental Impact Assessment is a formal process in many countries and is currently practicing in more than 100 countries all over the globe. India declared the first EIA norms in the year of 1994. A...

Marine Organisms Are Suffering..! Am I The Reason?

I hope the title will be a little confusing, Right? Alright! Let’s go into. Actually that is the reality. Not only me, We all are the reason..! Still confused? Let me explain, We are encircled by plastic. And the aquatic organisms are the category which is most affected by this crisis. A tremendous number of creatures die as an outcome of plastic pollution in the marine ecosystem. The list is so long that we cannot exhaust it in a single blog. Humans are the source of plastic pollution, so we must improve the quality of life, at least for marine animals. There is an average use of 100 kilograms of plastic per year when considering a group of people. The large part of the plastic waste will end up in huge landfills or the sea. Today more than 100 million plastic is drifting in the oceans. Plastic does not rot. It lasts up to 500 years. They respond with sun, wind, water as well. Plastic will break down into microscopic parts. These plastic particles can absorb high concentrations of agr...

Plastic Trash

Plastic pollution is the accumulation of plastic objects and particles in the earth's environment that adversely affects wildlife, wildlife habitat, and humans. And the plastics that have been released by each activity will cause many impacts on the environment that we are living.  As everyone know, plastic is not good for the environment. And it is an immense problem globally. Let’s give a look in to our own routine. There will be many uses of plastics from the toothbrushes to food wrappers. It also refers to the significant amount of plastic that isn’t recycled and ends up in landfill or in the developing world, thrown into unregulated dump sites. At present we don’t have any plan to lead a plastic free life. Let’s think together into. First of all , what is plastic? Plastics are a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic organic compounds that are malleable and so can be molded into solid objects. Plasticity is the general property of all materials which can deform irreversi...

Climate Change

Weather? Climate? Right from the start, let’s go through the difference between weather and climate, Weather: weather is a short term phenomenon, describing atmosphere, ocean and land conditions hourly or daily. Weather is not constant. It is dynamic and always changing. Climate: changes in the long term averages of daily weather defines climate of the region. Climate is generally defined as average weather. As we all know climate change causes many issues on our environment these days. And it reflects very seriously as well. What is meant by Climate Change? As per the United Nations , Climate Change is the defining problem of our time and we are at a defining moment. From shifting weather patterns that threaten food production to rising sea levels that increase the risk of catastrophic flooding, the impacts of climate change are global in scope and unprecedented in scale. Without drastic action today, adapting to these impacts in the future will be more complex and expensive.  C...

Household Waste Management

Household Waste , also known as domestic Waste or residential Waste, is disposable materials generated by households. This Waste can be comprised of non-Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Waste. Non-Hazardous Waste can include food scraps, paper, bottles, etc., which can be recycled or composted. Examples of Hazardous Waste include batteries and household cleaners. Hazardous Waste must be handled carefully to ensure that they are disposed of properly so they do not cause harm. Domestic waste has become one of the most significant causes of severe damage to rural eco-environment because of the large amounts of waste discharged and improper disposal (Wang and Lu, 2006). In order to eliminate contamination from domestic waste, a waste management system including waste collection, transportation, and treatment has been established. First, a waste treatment and disposal plan were made to restrict improper disposal and clean up of existing piles of waste near canals, roads, and houses. Second, a ...

Waste! Waste Management!

When we are thinking about this word, there will be so many questions passing through our mind like How to dispose of wastes? , How to reduce it? , Is recycling applicable for all the types of wastes? , etc. Let's discuss! First and foremost, What is Waste ? Waste is defined as unwanted and unusable materials and is regarded as a substance which is of no use. Waste that we see in our surroundings is also known as garbage. Garbage is mainly considered as a solid waste that includes wastes from our houses (domestic waste), wastes from schools, offices, etc (municipal wastes) and wastes from industries and factories (industrial wastes).  Types of Wastes Biodegradable waste Non-biodegradable waste Biodegradable Waste    A biodegradable material or substance can be defined as a material which can be decomposed easily by bacteria or any other natural organisms and not being the part of pollution. Biodegradable wastes are the waste materials which are and can be easily degraded...
