Directing an eco-friendly life is challenging, especially when deciding to make the routine more eco-favorable. As per the Oxford dictionary, the word eco means “Not harming the environment”. 
Here are few suggestions to make our habiliments more eco-favorable.

Use Less Paper and Recycle More 

The system we live in presently is much more reliant on digital technology. The less paper you use, the less paper requires to be produced, and the more trees that get to replenish our forests. By recycling one short ton (0.91 t) of paper you can save 17 mature trees, according to the EPA.

Eat Less Meat

More than 30 percent of the Earth’s surface is being used to raise and support livestock. As per United Nations study, “the livestock sector accounts for 9 percent of CO2 deriving from human-related activities but offers a much broader share of even more toxic greenhouse gases.

Use Canvas Bags Instead Of Plastic

Although a canvas bag might cost a small amount to receive, they are much more useful than you might think. Even if you don’t use canvas bags, reusing plastic bags is the best way to live more eco-friendly. (Today, an average person living in North America or Western Europe consumes 100 kilograms (220 pounds) of plastic each year, mostly in the form of packaging. In Asia, average plastic use is currently just one-fifth that level, at 20 kilograms (44 pounds) per person). Every small change can make a tremendous difference!

Start A Compost Pile Or Bin

Waste containers are there to keep garbage in one place, plain and simple. Composting Enriches soil, helping retain moisture and suppress plant diseases and pests. And it Reduces the need for chemical fertilizers.

Buy The fair Light

Don’t rush out today and replace all of your light bulbs even though they are still working, but the next time one of your light bulbs burns out replace it with a more eco-friendly brand. Reinstate your old bulb with a compact fluorescent light.

Reduce Water Waste

You can live a more eco-friendly lifestyle by using less water and cutting back on your bottled water purchases. Carry a bottle while going out instead of purchasing a mineral water bottle. Then reuse wastewater. Two types of wastewater are created in a home; greywater and blackwater. Greywater is wastewater from non-toilet plumbing fixtures such as showers, basins and taps.  It  is ideal for garden watering, with the appropriate precautions, such as using low or no sodium and phosphorus products and applying the water below the surface. Appropriately treated greywater can also be reused indoors for toilet flushing and clothes washing, both significant water consumers. Blackwater is water that has been mixed with waste from the toilet. It requires biological or chemical treatment and disinfection before reuse. 

Use renewable energy sources more than non-renewable energy sources

Renewable energy won’t run out. They constitute (together with energy conservation) the most ecologically sound solution for the effective reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and the combating of the greenhouse effect. In addition, by replacing energy generation plants which use conventional fuel resources, they lead to a reduction in the emissions of other pollutants as well, such as sulphur oxides which cause acid rain, nitrogen oxides which cause photochemical smog, airborne particulates, etc.
